THE WALLS PROJECT - The Documentary

If the Walls at the Tennessee State Penitentiary (AKA "The Walls") are to speak, it will be through the voices of the people who lived, worked and survived one of the most violent prison environments in American history.

It is this project's mission to give voice to the history, culture and dramatic stories that occured within this century old prison.

Imagine living and working behind four walls where on any given day 1500 of America's hardest criminals roam free on the yard, as only two prison guards keep watch. It was a world where a killing a month and a stabbing a week was the norm. Where order was kept only by a thin social code set by those who lived there.

As the people who inhabited this bleak and sometime curious world speak out, audiences will be amazed, enthralled, and confounded by their compelling stories that have now finally been told.
